Mobile Games to Look For at PAX West

 In Games, Independent

The mobile community is alive and kicking at PAX West.

As mobile devices get smarter, we’re bound to get better games for them. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Two Dots but sometimes I long for something more and I bet I’m not the only one. Luckily, at this year’s PAX West, the mobile community is anything but silent. Here are some mobile games to look out for:

The Elder Scrolls: Legends

I’m a huge fan on the Elder Scrolls saga, so I’m a bit partial to Bethesda’s latest release of the mobile turn based game, The Elder Scrolls: Legends. It seems this is Bethesda’s own version of the ever popular Hearthstone. The aspect that sets it apart is classic Bethesda story-heavy game play. It gives more meaning to the cards you play and the upgrades you choose to make. If you haven’t already downloaded it, do it now–it’s free.

Galaxy of Pen and Paper

The latest from Behold Studios is a space age take on their successful game Knights of Pen and Paper. Galaxy is a turn-based RPG about players in 1999! Some of you reading this might not have been born yet in that year and that makes me feel really, really old. But regardless of your age, this game is sure to help you forget your troubles as you explore planets and fight aliens. Besides, putting something in space makes it better, right? Yes. Yes it does.

Thimbleweed Park

Terrible Toybox has put together an intriguing mystery game that is available on many platforms, including mobile. Two federal agents arrive in Thimbleweed Park and the locals are having a hard time accepting their presence. Funny dialogue delivered by talented voice actors is only a tip of this game’s iceberg of charm. It’s hard to put put the vibe of this game into words so I advise you just check out the trailer yourself:
